The Bath Spa University Research Network (aka BSU Resnet) is a PhD student-led initiative. This initiative began in Summer 2008 when several Bath Spa PhD students were surprised to find that, despite the specificity of our subjects, our PhD experiences were very similar and that isolation from fellow students was counter-productive.
All our founding members, which can be found here, decided to make a plan to improve our links of communication, not just within our university but also with the larger academic community.
Our two main aims are:
- To promote the research of Bath Spa students to the wider academic community.
- To help generate and encourage the research and academic life within our own community.
In order to achieve these goals we have organised talks, seminars and an annual symposium that involve as many students and academics from as many different disciplines as possible.
We hope that in the process of achieving our main aims we also manage to promote inter-disciplinary thinking and create bridges between the undergraduate and postgraduate worlds.
Hopefully this website will help keep people up to speed with all our activities, provide a meeting place for ideas and, of course, a platform for discussing our research.
